The 2010 GMC Canyon comes with minor changes. It is designed and produced based on the Chevrolet Colorado model, but the overall size of the model is increased up to some extent.

The standard engine to the GMC Canyon include a DOHC 2.9 liter I-4 version that delivers power up to 185 hp at 5600 rpm and torque of 190 lb ft at 2800 rpm. Apart from various GMC Canyon accessories, it also offers various engine options, which include a 3.7 liter I-5 and OHV 5.3 liter V8 version. I-5 engine can generate power up to 242 hp at 5600 rpm and torque of 242 lb ft at 4600 rpm, while the V8 engine can deliver 300 hp at 5200 rpm and torque of 320 lb ft at 4000 rpm. The available transmissions to the model include 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. With the V8 engine, the GMC Canyon model can achieve fuel economy of 15 miles per gallon in the city premises and 21 miles per gallon on the highway roads.
